Do you remember when Avocado Toast was all the rage? Is it still a thing? If it is, its reign is over- Strawberry Toast is the new queen in town.
This recipe is incredibly versatile, and isn’t as much a recipe as it is a technique. Basically, you grab some crusty bread, slather on some cream cheese (or labneh), and top with some sliced strawberries. Drizzle with some honey, and you can get fancy by sprinkling with some ground nuts. That’s all there is to it.
The technique may seem simple, but the resulting toasts are nothing short of amazing. They are a textural masterpiece- crunchy, sweet, tart, creamy, and luscious. Not only are they a treat for the tastebuds, but they’re also make for a gorgeous spread. Just look at these beauties!
Strawberry Toast/Crostini
Ingredients
- Crusty bread, any variety, sliced
- Olive oil
- Cream cheese (or labneh)
- Sliced strawberries
- Honey
- Crushed nuts (or shredded coconut)
Instructions

Lightly brush bread with olive oil and toast under a broiler or on a grill pan. Remove from heat.

Spread cream cheese on each bread slice. Top with strawberries. Drizzle a bit of honey, and garnish with crushed nuts.
