Ramadan is fast approaching and that means its time to bring out the dates!
Dates are a powerhouse fruit, and are packed to the brim with vitamins and nutrients. As Muslims, it is part of the Islamic tradition to break our fast with them.
Just like other fruits, dates come in a number of varieties. Sukari, Ajwa, Deglet Noor, and Medjool are just a few that come to mind, with Medjool being one of the more popular kinds.
I love eating and serving dates as is, but sometimes it’s fun to dress them up and serve them stuffed. I’ve put together a recipe card with my five favorite ways to stuff dates (and no, no bacon here! Does that seem sacrilege to anyone else lol?), and I’m sure you’ll love them as much as I do!
I was gifted this gorgeous handmade ceramic platter from Hafsa at BG’s Bazaar. It is part of her Ramadan collection inspired by elements of Islamic culture.

Can these dates be made in advance? what is the best way to store them?
Thank you for sharing such great ideas for stuffed dates. Can’t wait to try the different versions.

Yes absolutely! I would say you can prepare them upto 2 days in advance (any more than that and they may lose some of their freshness; still delicious, but not as fresh)! Just prepare them as written, and keep them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
I store my leftovers and snacked on them throughout the week 🙂
