Ok, ok, I know, the name of this post might throw you off a little. Here’s the story:
We were shopping at Costco one weekend and came across a Vitamix demonstration. The associate who was doing the demonstration whipped up an amazing smoothie made of spinach, grapes, and pineapple. My husband, who generally is averse to anything green, loved it! Even my son loved it! I tried countless times to recreate it at home, but I just wasn’t able to get the ratios down correctly. Several weeks ago I stumbled upon this and now we’re able to enjoy the same smoothie, or Green Juice as the Little One likes to call it, at home 🙂
Costco Green Smoothie
Yield: 1 Large or 2 Small Servings
Ingredients:
- 2 cups spinach, packed
- 1 cup diced pineapple
- 1 cup green grapes
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup ice
- 2 tablespoons honey
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth. Refrigerate any leftovers.
I have been thinking of making green smoothie for myself for quite sometime after hearing all the good stuff about it. But always hesitated thinkin it will taste bitter coz if the green leaves in it. Wanted to ask does the spinach make the drink bitter?
I think this smoothie is the perfect introduction to green smoothies! The spinach literally has no taste! The pineapple and grapes sweeten the smoothie, so it tastes more like juice than anything.
You should give it a shot, I’m almost 100% positive that you won’t regret it 🙂
Aah ok. Thanks. Then let my first trial of green juice be with this recipe. 🙂
I’ve never seen a green smoothie with grapes before…great idea! Green smoothies are such a great way to get in veggies and fruit!
I love the background…what are you using for the black?
The black is actually just a flimsy black poster 🙂
Looks really good!
Thanks 🙂 Sometime it’s the simple things 🙂
I had this smoothie during a vitamix demo at Costco too! Will have to try.
Yayyy for Costco demos! 🙂
When I was in States, I visited Costco and bought so much ingredients for my Green Smoothies! I love that it has wide varieties of greens and frozen fruits!
I agree! It’s a great place to stock up (although I find myself going over budget when we shop there lol).
And thanks for stopping by! It’s lovely to meet you 🙂
Will give this one a try. With grapes in the market and me not getting that required dose of fruits and veggies. This will be an easy way to get them in. I need to grow some spinach!
You grow spinach? That’s awesome!
Yum Yum! Love spinach, love grapes and love pineapple. Love this smoothie 😀
Looks like this is made just for you 🙂
