In preparation for Saturday’s iftar party, I present to you oh Blogosphere, MINT CHUTNEY! ::drum rolls::
I love the marriage of mint and cilantro, thus making Mint Chutney my favorite South Asian condiment 🙂
Enjoy!
Mint Chutney
Yield: 1 ½ cup
Ingredients:
- 1 bunch mint, leaves only
- 1 bunch cilantro, stems removed
- 2 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2-4 green chilies, depending on preference
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Water, as needed
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blitz until a thick sauce is formed.
(By the way, I’ve submitted this recipe to The Halal Foodie for their Ramadan Event, a place where you can find an awesome array of iftar recipes!)
i love mint chutney too, looks delicious !
isn’t it the best? If I had to choose between Mint Chutney and Tamarind Chutney, I would pick mint 100% of the time lol
thanks for sending it to my event
Woohoo! I love this 😀 I saw Jamie Oliver last night for 30 seconds trying to make one, but his didn’t really cut it for me, so I turned off the TV and left it..only to find this in my email today 🙂 What a winner! 🙂
Looks like a case of telepathy my friend 😉
mmmm this must be unbelievably aromatic and flavorful!
