Homemade Taco Seasoning
Ingredients
- ¼ cup chili powder
- 2 tablespoons cumin powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1½ teaspoons black pepper
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
Instructions

Combine all spices in a small bowl and whisk until thoroughly combined. Store in an airtight container.

Chili powder refers to the spice blend made up of paprika, cumin, etc.; It is not meant to be confused with cayenne or red chili powder.
Prepared taco seasoning keeps well in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 6 months.
Start with 1-tablespoon seasoning per 1-pound of meat (add salt as needed). Add more seasoning as necessary.
